mohiniyattam is an indian classical dance form that incorporates storytelling through graceful and sensual dance moves with dancers wearing heavy make up and costume that includes white sari embroidered with bright golden brocade. this and few following photos shows the mohiniyattam performers preparations in the studio before they embark upon the stage.

in continuation to my earlier post, because of construction of a dam on saravati river, thousands of acres of land got submerged, and peaks of hills stuck out from the surface of the lake thus formed, to serve as tiny islands. we camped on one such island and the only way to travel to other ‘islands’ were, tiny row boats or kayaks. this photo was taken on an afternoon, miles out on the lake, where the water was of an eerie shade of translucent green.
